IAEA chief Yukiya Amano says Iran has engaged with the agency substantively, including in the clarification of issues related to the use of exploding bridge wire detonators

VIENNA, June 2. /ITAR-TASS/. The UN nuclear watchdog chief has welcomed the fact that the practical measures agreed with Iran on its nuclear program have been implemented as planned. Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said Iran’s cooperation with the organization helped it “gain a better understanding” of Tehran’s program.

"Iran has engaged with the agency substantively, including in the clarification of issues related to the use of exploding bridge wire detonators," Amano told IAEA members on Monday.

Amano noted that the IAEA is "not in a position to provide credible assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran, and therefore to conclude that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities."
