ASTANA, May 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev has said the country intends to join the Customs Union before the yearend.

“We’d like to ring in the New Year jointly with other members of the Customs Union,” Atambayev said at a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Union Council on Thursday.

Over 30 laws and other documents are due to be approved for Kyrgyzstan’s full integration into the Customs Union, he said.

“Today we’ve decided to set up a fund with Russia for easing Kyrgyzstan’s integration into the Customs Union,” Atambayev said.

“In the beginning Kyrgyzstan is to go through difficult times. I’m confident that the accession to the Customs Union is indispensable for Kyrgyzstan,” he said.

Atambayev expressed hope for signing on Thursday a roadmap on Kyrgyzstan’s joining the Customs Union and the country’s intention to join the common economic space.
