MOSCOW, May 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Two Russian Kamov Ka-32 emergency helicopters are monitoring the flood situation in Serbia, spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Drobyshevsky told ITAR-TASS.

“Two helicopters Ka-32 that arrived from Moscow are staying in Serbia to monitor the flood situation and deliver relief cargoes to hard-to-reach settlements,” he said.

For the past day helicopters have supplied nine tonnes of first necessities.

On Monday, Russian rescuers have completed operations in Serbia where they had been giving aid to clean up aftermath of a devastating flood since May 16, save and evacuate residents of flooded districts. Emergency rescuers have evacuated a total of three thousand people, including more than 600 children. Three airplanes Ilyushin Il-76 have delivered more than 105 tonnes of relief supplies to Serbia.

Another 40 tonnes of relief cargoes were delivered to Republika Srpska which makes part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
