TOKYO, May 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Tokyo did not make any changes in the plan to prepare Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Japan that is expected to take place in autumn, Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference on Monday.

“We did not make any changes in the schedule of talks with Russia to conclude a peace treaty with the country and the plan to prepare Putin’s visit to Japan,” Suga noted.

President Putin received an invitation to visit Japan from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at a meeting at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi and accepted it. After the crisis broke out in Ukraine and Tokyo joined sanctions that the West imposed on Moscow local observers assumed that the Russian head of state might not visit Japan.
