Voting at Ukraine’s presidential elections finished

The Central Election Committee will start announcing first official data on the voting results Monday morning

KIEV, May 25. /ITAR-TASS/. The voting at the snap presidential elections in Ukraine has finished. Precisely at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT) all polling stations have closed.

However, Deputy Head of Ukraine’s Central Election Committee Andrei Magera explained that the voters who in the moment of the stations’ closing were in the voting premises may wait until their turn, get a ballot and cast a vote.

According to latest data presented to the Central election Committee before the polling stations closed, the voter turnout as of 15:00 local time (12:00 GMT) amounted to 40.44%. “These data covers all elections commission,” chairperson of the Ukrainian Central Election Commission Zhanna Usenko-Chernaya said. “Traditionally high turnout was reported from Kiev, from the Poltava, Cherkassy and Kirovohrad regions, and from Ternopol, Khmelnitsky and Lviv regions.”
