KIEV, May 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Kiev’s authorities have offered their own interpretation of several terms, including “nationalist”, “separatist” and “Banderovite”. The authorities have issued a booklet on the current developments in Ukraine. The booklet targets foreign journalists and international observers at the ongoing snap presidential elections. It has personal data on presidential candidates and interprets a number of terms that might be unclear for foreigners.

The glossary includes more than a dozen notions. The word “nationalists,” interpreted by the Kiev authorities as “democratically-and patriotically-minded people who want to see their state prosperous,” tops this list. “Separatists” and “terrorists” are interpreted as “pro-Russian activists”. Moreover, here is what the Ukrainian authorities think of “Banderovites”: “real Banderovites were not fascists but members of the Ukrainian national movement which advocated Ukraine’s independence”.

These booklets, printed in high-quality glossy paper, were handed out at the crisis media centre located in the Ukraine hotel in central Kiev. This centre has been used for media briefings.
