MOSCOW, May 22. /ITAR-TASS/.The OSCE Ukraine monitoring mission is hushing up many facts and its reports are censored, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday.

There is a whole number of drawbacks in the work of the OSCE Ukraine mission, Lukashevich said.

“Among these drawbacks, we can single out assessments and interpretations that are not always objective. Many facts which seem to be inconvenient for the Kiev authorities are hushed up while the reports by rank-and-file observers are subject to outright censorship, which raises questions about the terminology used in the reports,” Lukashevich said.

The OSCE Ukraine mission completely ignored the May 11 independence referendums held in the eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

“We believe that the mission should work with citizens’ direct appeals, especially considering that the tasks of interacting with civil society and monitoring human rights violations are directly sealed in the mission’s mandate,” Lukashevich said.
