Ukraine asks Russia for permission to organize an observation flight

“The aim of observation mission, among other things, is to check whether Russian leaders have really started withdrawing troops from Russia’s border with Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry says

KIEV, May 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine has asked Russia for permission to organize a regular observation flight over the Russian territory. The request was handed over via the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in accordance with provisions of the Open Skies Treaty, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

“The aim of the observation mission, among other things, is to check whether the Russian leaders have really started withdrawing troops from Russia’s border with Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed.

Ukraine made a similar observation flight over Russia’s territory last March.
