EU lawmaker from Latvia urges to sue Ukraine’s Right Sector for chemical weapons use

Tatiana Zhdanok pledged to do everything “to put Ukraine’s Right Sector on the European list of terrorist organizations”

RIGA, May 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Lawmaker of the European Parliament from Latvia Tatiana Zhdanok urged to bring to justice Ukrainian far-right movement Right Sector for use of chemical weapons, the European lawmaker’s bureau told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

“Probably, Right Sector activists have created conditions for allegedly accidental use of mass destruction chemical weapons against unarmed civilians in the city of Odessa with Ukrainian officials and local police involved,” she said.

The Latvian lawmaker pledged to do everything “to put Ukraine’s Right Sector on the European list of terrorist organizations” and organize “an international probe of a massacre of civilians with use of chemical weapons in the city of Odessa and condemn all masterminds of this crime.”

The politician also recalled that 190 from 196 UN member states, including Ukraine, had signed and ratified the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons.
