“All persisting issues are being discussed. We are at the very beginning of making a draft, but serious differences remain,” USA representative stated after the talks
VIENNA, May 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Iran and P5+1 (five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany) failed to achieve any progress in drfting the text of a comprehensive agreement at the negotiations’ round in Vienna. This stated Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs of Iran Abbas Araghchi.
“No substantial progress in drafting the agreement project has been achieved at this round,” he noted.
Araghchi added that the negotiators also failed to set the dates of the next round of Iran-P5+1 talks.
“The dates of the round scheduled for June haven’t been set,” he said.
However, Abbas Araghchi has noted, that with due respect from the six world powers towards Iran, hope to reach a comprehensive agreement on Iran’s nuclear program until July 20 still remains.
USA: Differences remain
After the first round of talks devoted to the drafting of a comprehensive agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program, there are still serious differences in the stances of Iran and P5+1, and the process of coordination of the document is very complex. This said a representative of the US delegation after the fourth Vienna round of the talks.
“All persisting issues are being discussed. We are at the very beginning of making a draft, but serious differences remain,” the American representative stated.
He added that the USA believed in the possibility to finish the process of coordination of the comprehensive agreement between the six world powers and Iran on the nuclear program and stressed that all parties were aimed at the final goal.
