Number of OSCE observers in Ukraine to reach 300 within a month

In two months, their number will be increased to 500 people, head of the observers’ mission Ertuğrul Apakan stated
VIENNA, May 15. /ITAR-TASS/. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) intends to increase the number of its observers in Ukraine to 300 people within a month, according to Ertuğrul Apakan, head of the OSCE mission in Ukraine.
“To date, we are approaching the number of 200 people, within a month they will be 300, and in two months, we will increase this number to 500 people, as stipulated by the mandate,” he said.
The diplomat added that this would allow “being represented in all parts of the country and working more effectively”. Apakan also said that the Geneva statement on crisis settlement “added liabilities”. “We are tracking its fulfillment, participating in this format, in discussions with its parties,” he noted.
