BRUSSELS, May 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Ministers of foreign affairs of 28 EU member countries have included another 13 people and 2 Crimean companies to the sanctions list against Russia, a European diplomatic source told ITAR-TASS on the margins of the ministerial meeting on Monday.

“As an addition to the black list, there were named 13 individuals and two Crimea-based companies,” the source said, adding that the measures will come into effect on Tuesday.

EU sanctions against Russia

The first package of sanctions imposed on Russia by EU countries was announced March 18, after then-Ukrainian Crimea voted for joining the Russian Federation on a referendum. Then, the black list included 21 Russian and Crimean officials.

The second set of punitive measures was imposed March 21,when the EU expanded the black list and cancelled the EU-Russia summit due in June.

The black list was expanded April 28, and the names of officials banned from entry into EU countries were published on April 29.

The EU has been imposing sanctions on Russia almost simultaneously with the USA.
