Transfer operation of 1200 militants’ armed opposition prepares in Homs

BEIRUT, May 7./ITAR-TASS/. The preparation for 1200 armed opposition fighters withdrawal has started in the ancient districts of Homs. Buses for rebels moved into the historic center early morning May 7, television channel al- Mayadin reported. These buses were captured by militants two years ago.

Governor Talal al- Barrazi said that militants who refused to lay down their arms head out for safe corridor at Dar el-Kabir. It is a town 20 kilometers north of Homs, which is controlled by the armed opposition.

The column will be accompanied by staff of the UN mission in Syria and Iranian diplomats played a mediating role. The wounded will be evacuated by the Syrian Red Crescent.

Under the deal, along with the operation in Homs in northern Syria a humanitarian corridor to besieged city Shiite militants Nobul and Zahra (30 km from Aleppo) will be open. There also will be an exchange of prisoners between the so-called Islamic Front and the Syrian army.

In the case of a favorable outcome, Homs will be fully come under the control of the government army. The release from rebel groups the third largest city in the country would be an important achievement on the eve of the presidential elections to be held on June 3.
