Earlier EU imposed sanctions against 15 Russians
BRUSSELS, May 3. / ITAR-TASS/. Diplomatic representatives of 28 countries, members of the European Union will gather in Brussels on Monday to discuss the possibility of imposing additional sanctions against Russia, press officer of the EU Council says.
“High-ranking diplomats from EU countries are expected to hold a meeting in Brussels on Monday to discuss the further use of restrictive measures against Russia,” he said.
The official declined to comment if the meeting will focus on the expansion of the “black list” of Russian officials against whom the EU applies smart sanctions or on the introduction of economic sanctions against Russia.
Earlier, the official journal of the European Union has published the names of 10 Russian officials and five representatives of Ukraine’s south-east resistance, against whom have been applied sanctions constituting in ban of entry in EU territory and assets freezing (if any) in member states.
On March 17, the European Union published the initial sanctions list for Russia and Crimea that included 21 names. Then the European “black list” included eight representatives of the Crimean leadership.
