There are no Russian Main Intelligence Directorate subversive groups in Sloviansk
“People’s police fighters of Sloviansk do not want to share their military successes with anybody,” a representative of the people’s police says
SLOVIANSK, May 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The statements of Ukraine’s Acting Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, appointed to the post by the country’s Verkhovna Rada (parliament) suggesting that shots were fired at Ukrainian helicopters in Sloviansk not by people’s police fighters, but by “Russia’s special task forces,” “have nothing to do with reality,” said a representative of the people’s police of the city where on Friday morning the Kiev authorities launched a punitive military operation that involves terrorists from the Right Sector and other ultranationalist organizations.
Likewise, Avakov’s statements that the operation is conducted not against the Ukrainian people, but against “a subversive group of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Russian Federation” are also not consistent with the reality, he stressed. “There are no subversive groups in the city,” he said. “The residents of Sloviansk, its civilian population have come under missile strikes,” the people’s police representative said.
“People’s police fighters of Sloviansk do not want to share their military successes with anybody,” he added.
