Ukraine’s authorities are ready to meet with Russian president’s envoy Vladimir Lukin to discuss the situation with the military specialists from European countries who were detained in Sloviansk

KIEV, May 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s authorities are ready to meet with Russian president’s special envoy Vladimir Lukin to discuss the situation with the military specialists from European countries who were detained in Ukraine’s Sloviansk, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

“We are ready to discuss with Mr. Lukin and with other possible mediators their practical contribution to the settlement of this problem,” the ministry said.

Earlier on Friday, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that presidential special envoy Vladimir Lukin had been sent to southeast Ukraine on presidential instructions on Thursday to negotiate a possible release of foreign military observers captured earlier.
