SLOVIANSK, May 02./ITAR-TASS/. A pilot of Ukrainian Air Force and a defender of the east Ukrainian city of Sloviansk were killed in a Ukrainian army operation in the city on Friday. Several people were wounded, including the second pilot of a helicopter gunship that was taken to hospital after the chopper was downed as well as a representative of ploice in the self-proclaimed Donetsk republic.

“Two helicopters of Ukrainian army were downed. One person was wounded and one more was killed in police,” representative of Sloviansk people’s self-defence Stella Khorosheva said.

Ukrainian parliament-appointed Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has earlier stated about several wounded servicemen.
