Two people were injured

VILNIUS, May 1. /ITAR-TASS/. Two people have been injured in the Lithuanian capital where glass constructions of the roof in major shopping mall Akropolio collapsed, according to local media reports.

The injured have been brought to hospital. Physicians said that their traumas did not pose any threat to the people’s lives.

“The cause of the collapse could become vibration produced by the wind, or temperature drop,” Česlovas Urbonavičius, the shopping mall’s representative said.

He added that several months ago, the constructions of Akropolio were tested for safety. “No problems were discovered,” Urbonavičius said.

The Akropolio shopping mall in Vilnius belongs to the same Lithuanian Maxima group, in whose shopping mall in Riga, after the roof collapsed, 54 people died November 21, 2013.
