French warship Dupleix to enter Black Sea on April 26-27
After USS Donald Cook leaves the Black Sea on April 24, the arrival of Dupleix will keep NATO’s military presence in the Black Sea at three units
MOSCOW, April 23. /ITAR-TASS/. French frigate Dupleix will enter the Black Sea on Saturday or Sunday, a diplomatic source told ITAR-TASS on Wedndesday.
Dupleix was initially scheduled to enter the Black Sea on April 14. The source said that US warship USS Taylor passed through the Bosporus and the Dardanelles and entered the Black Sea on April 22.
“The US frigate (USS Taylor) is now heading to Constanta (Romania’s largest sea port),” the source said. He noted that French intelligence ship Dupuy de Lome was scheduled to leave the Black Sea and go back to the Mediterranean Sea on April 30.
Dupuy de Lome and USS Donald Cook with Aegis missile defense system onboard entered the Black Sea on April 10. Donald Cook is currently stationed in the western part of the sea. Dupuy de Lome is positioned in the central part of the Black Sea.
The source said that USS Donald Cook was supposed to leave the Black Sea on April 24. However, he added, the arrival of French Dupleix will keep NATO’s military presence in the Black Sea at three units.
