Former chiefs of Kiev police put on wanted list

Policemen charged with unlawful resistance of the organization or holding meetings, rallies, marches and demonstrations

KIEV, April 23. /ITAR-TASS /. Security Service of Ukraine ( SBU) has put the former Chief of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kiev Valeriy Koryak and Deputy of Public Safety Petro Fedchuk on wanted list, Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.
It is alleged that the former policemen charged with unlawful resistance of the organization or holding meetings, rallies, marches and demonstrations.

The Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense of Ukraine Volodymyr Sivkovych, head of Kiev city state administration Alexander Popov, chief of the Kiev police Valeriy Koryakov and deputy head of the Kiev police Petro Fedchuk December 2013 received a notification of suspected abuse of power excess during rally disrupting at Independence Square in Kiev on November 30, the General Prosecutor Viktor Pshonka said. During the investigation Koryak and Fedchuk had been relieved of duties, but actually Koryak ran the metropolitan police.
