Caspian Five to hold conference on marine environment convention in May

MOSCOW, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. The foreign ministers of the five Caspian stated - Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Turkmenistan - have agreed to hold a conference of the member-states of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Caspian Sea Marine Environment in Turkmenistan in May.

“We have consented to take more efficient steps towards implementing the Convention for the Protection of the Caspian Sea Marine Environment,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

“We are hoping that concrete results will be achieved at the 5th conference,” he said.
