MINSK, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. State authorities are ready for constructive talks with the opposition but any violent or radical movements will be suppressed immediately, President Alexander Lukashenko said on Tuesday.

“Any violent propaganda will be nipped in the bud and I am sure that the people will support us,” he told parliament. The authorities were open to political change, the president said. But he warned against damage to society since “anyone who stirs up public rioting is an enemy of the people in the first place”.

“Such radical action will be crushed” as the authorities wanted no provocations, Lukashenko said.

People should be tolerant of different political views and opinions but should not accept any revolutionary action, the president added. “We are tolerant towards opposition, if it acts constructively.”
