Ukraine's border service ready to launch control on border with Crimea

KIEV, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's State Border Service is preparing to launch control on the border between Ukraine's Kherson region and Crimea, a spokesperson said.

The decision follows Moscow's plans to develop the state border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine following Crimea and Sevastopol joining Russia," Border Service spokesman Oleg Slobodyan told a news briefing on Tuesday.

April 21, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered new head of the Russian Border Service Konstantin Busygin to immediately begin developing the state border with Ukraine.

"The first instruction issued to new head of the Russian Border Service Konstantin Busygin was to immediately begin the development of the state border, giving Crimea and Sevastopol's joining Russia," Medvedev's spokesperson Natalia Timakova said.
