No need so far to respond to NATO strengthening in Europe — CSTO head
YEKATERINBURG, April 22. /ITAR-TASS/. Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha sees no need to respond to NATO strengthening in Europe.
“We see what is happening, hear statements regarding the numerical strength of ground troops or increased number of exercises. I think this has been largely caused by the momentary political considerations. There is no need so far to respond to this, although we do not overlook all these statements. If the CSTO member states deem it necessary to respond with taking into account the new realities, this will be done,” he said in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday.
“CSTO is not static. The organization is changing, its force potential and the configuration of our capabilities are also changing to respond to threats and challenges. This process will be continued with taking into account any steps that NATO takes,” Bordyuzha said.
