KIEV, April 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian lawmaker Serhiy Matviyenkov of the Party of Regions has called on the parliament to do more detailed checks on the military operation in south-eastern Ukraine.

“If we really believe that the arms should not ‘wander’ around Ukraine, they should be banned from ‘wandering’ anywhere starting from the capital Kiev,” the deputy said on Thursday at the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament. “If we reiterate that the seized buildings should be vacated, they have to be vacated everywhere.”

He underscored the necessity of looking into the use of force, including “fire at residents who live in the neighborhood and the use of aviation for unclear reasons at two o'clock after midnight.”

Matviyenkov said 17 people had been wounded, with 15 out of them local residents of the city of Mariupol and the two others from the same Donbass region.

“And now for settling the situation, we need to sit calmly for a while and to think soberly over what's happening for balanced decisions to be taken later,” he said.

The authorities should take into account the sharply decreasing economy. “Because mums will go on the streets tomorrow as they will have nothing to feed their kids with and it will be a real revolt,” he said.
