KIEV, April 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine's parliament is drawing a memorandum on a peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern regions of the country. The document is expected to be adopted alter on Thursday.
The parliament has taken a pause until 13:00 GMT. Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov said leaders of house groups and factions would gather in the meantime to come out with a joint statement or join memorandum on peaceful settlement in eastern Ukraine.
“We've talked with lawmakers from all factions: I've just met with deputies from the Party of Regions. They also propose to come up with a format of the attempt at a peaceful settlement of the situation in Donetsk, which is particularly important ahead of Easter, great Christian holiday,” Turchynov said.
“We stand for using all opportunities for a peaceful settlement of the problem; we stand for all our citizens' building our common home Ukraine together, regardless of where they live: in Donetsk or Lvov,” he said.
