It was inadmissible for a candidate to call on his supporters for arming to defend the east of the country, UN Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights notes
UNITED NATIONS, April 17. /ITAR-TASS/. UN observers in Ukraine would investigate the attack committed against Ukrainian presidential candidate Oleh Tsariov, UN Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic said on Wednesday.
Simonovic also said it was inadmissible for a candidate to call on his supporters for arming to defend the east of the country and for another to be beaten for his political views. Observers were checking the serious accusations, he said.
Tsariov was attacked by an aggressive crowd outside a television studio in Kiev, when he went out after participating in a live broadcast. The crowd of extremists cruelly beat him. With great difficulty guards managed to take Tsariov out. The attackers went unpunished.
