KIEV, April 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Train traffic on a crucial railway between the stations of Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region has been fully restored, the press service of the Donetsk Railway Department said Wednesday afternoon.

As reported earlier, unknown people blocked the section of the railway between Kramatorsk and the town of Druzhkivka on Wednesday morning, thus bringing a new element into the armed standoff between the population of the region, where the majority of people are seeking to turn Ukraine into a federation, and the armed units sent in by the authorities in Kiev in order to suppress the insurrection.

“In the wake of an unauthorized blocking of the railway between the stations of Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka by unidentified individuals, changes have been made in the routes of long-distance and commuter trains, which are diverted to a different line until the unauthorized blocking is lifted,” the press service said.

A total of twenty-six long-distance passenger trains and twenty-eight commuter trains traverse the line between Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka daily.

The line provides a railway link between the heavily industrialized and densely populated southeast of the Donetsk region and the city of Kharkiv. It also links the area to Lozovaya, one of the biggest railway junctions in Southeast Ukraine.
