KIEV, April 11, /ITAR-TASS/. Seven people were injured as a result of clashes between the group Euromaidan-Odessa and its opponents in front of Odessa’s hotel where presidential candidate Oleg Tsarev was staying, the press-service of the city police force said on Thursday.

“A total of seven persons received bodily injuries,” the press-service said.

Tsarev arrived in Odessa earlier on Thursday for ceremonies marking the 70th anniversary of the city’s liberation of Nazi invaders. He was going to appear at a news conference. Members of the Euromaidan-Odessa group gathered in front of the hotel he had checked into. Several dozen picketers blocked the entrance and started chanting “Tsarev, come out!” When a group of Euromaidan’s opponents tried to clear the passage towards the entrance a brawl followed.

The police is investigating the incident.
