CSTO, NATO should not interfere in situation in Ukraine — CSTO Secretary General
MINSK, April 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Military alliances’ interference in the events in Ukraine is counter-productive, Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
“The Ukrainian people themselves should work out measures to stabilize the situation,” he said on Thursday.
Bordyuzha has voiced concern over NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen’s statements on 'cost' for Russia.
“Neither the CSTO nor NATO should interfere in the Ukrainian events. This will be the best way for peace and calm to prevail there,” he said.
Bordyuzha said Ukraine was not a member of the CSTO. “We cannot influence Ukraine, and we cannot put pressure on it. But we are watching the situation and tendencies. They are negative and undesirable,” he said.
