Nationalists fight communists in Ukrainian parliament
A fight between nationalist and communist deputies occurred Tuesday morning in Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada
KIEV, April 8. /ITAR-TASS/. Deputies of the Communist party and the nationalist Svoboda Party had a fight during a session of the Ukrainian parliament Tuesday.
Communist deputy Petr Simonenko accused the current authorities of inaction due to the situation in the eastern and southern regions of the country. "People have long demanded to give the Russian language the status of an official state language. People demand that we should listen to their social problems, but the authorities don't listen to them," Simonenko said.
He also stated that "the current authorities call the protesters seizing administrative buildings in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv separatists. And when there were seizures of regional administrations in western Ukraine, Svoboda Party deputies called the protesters patriots," the communist leader added.
After these words nationalist deputies ran up to Simonenko and tried to push him off the stand. Communist deputies tried to defend their leader.
