Protesters in Luhansk seize arms from regional Security Council department office
The staff of Luhansk police has been put on alert
KIEV, April 7. /ITAR-TASS/. Unidentified people in the office of regional department of Ukraine’s Security Council in Luhansk have captured the room, where firearms were stored. The press service of Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Luhansk Region reported this on Monday.
“At present, the office of the Security Council is blocked by the protesters; unidentified people are in the facility. According to latest reports, the room where firearms were kept has been captured,” the message says.
In addition, overnight to Monday unidentified people have blocked traffic on one of the main city routes using expedient means.
The staff of Luhansk police has been put on alert, the press service reported.
“Traffic police officers have shut off all entrances to the city of Luhansk,” the representatives said.
Earlier, protesters in Luhansk occupied the office of Ukraine’s Security Service regional department. People demanded to set free the arrested activists, in particular their leader, “popular governor” Alexander Kharitonov.
