British ship ‘Echo’ to check reports on signals allegedly from Boeing 777 black box
The search did not yield any results as yet: until now all objects located from satellites and planes on the ocean’s surface turned out to be rubbish unrelated to the missing airplane
SYDNEY, April 7. /ITAR-TASS/. British hydrographic ship ‘Echo’ is about to arrive to the area of location of Chinese ship Haixun 01, which on the previous weekend captured signals that may come from the black box of missing Malaysian Boeing 777. Angus Houston, ex-commander of Australian armed forces, that currently heads the joint search coordination center, said this on Monday.
Australian ship ‘Ocean Shield’ that captured another pulsing signal, nearly in 480 km north from the first one, will remain in this area and continue attempts to check this information.
Meanwhile, on Monday, in the area of the international search operation in the Indian Ocean that makes already 234,000 square kilometers, 12 planes and 14 ships will be working. The search did not yield any results as yet: until now all objects located from satellites and planes on the ocean’s surface turned out to be rubbish unrelated to the missing airplane.
Malaysian Airlines’ Boeing 777-200 was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing March 7. The plane carried 227 passengers and 12 crewmembers onboard. Communication with the airliner was lost in nearly two hours after its departure from the Malaysian capital. March 24, the air carrier published a statement announcing about the death of all people who were onboard the plane.
