MOSCOW, April 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The truth about the activity of snipers on Kiev’s Independence Square should be established transparently and in full scope, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

“I find it difficult to make assessments of the statements regarding the actions of snipers on Independence Square that were made today because I didn’t see the materials on the basis of which these assessments had been drawn,” Lavrov said.

“We also heard somewhat different assessments, including the ones that were not meant for the public at large, like the recording of a telephone conversation between the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Estonia’s Foreign Minister Urmas Paett,” Lavrov recalled.

“We proceed from the importance of establishing truth transparently and in full scope,” he said. “They (the official claims about the operations of snipers that were made in Kiev Thursday - ITAR-TASS) run counter to a huge amount of evidence,” Lavrov said.
