KIEV, April 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine has withdrawn more than 2,000 troops from Crimea, Andriy Parubiy, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, told a briefing in Kiev on Wednesday.

More than 2,000 servicemen as well as members of the newly-formed National Guard have started doing an army service in the territory of Ukraine, Parubiy said, noting that about 200 national guards still remained on the peninsula to protect prisons and a research institute.

The Ukrainian army has taken about 41 tanks and 64 trucks out of Crimea.

“Negotiations are under way on pulling out the remaining military hardware, including warships, from the peninsula,” Parubiy stressed.
