PARIS, March 31, /ITAR-TASS/. Interior Minister Manuel Valls has been appointed the new prime minister of France.

The appointment has just been announced by President Francois Hollande in a televised address.

Valls will replace Jean-Marc Ayrault who resigned earlier in the day.
