The steps for protection against terrorists will be taken after NATO-led coalition withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia’s Federal Security Service deputy director says

TASHKENT, March 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Member-states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) will ensure security and counter the threat of terrorism after the NATO-led coalition leaves Afghanistan, Russia’s Federal Security Service deputy director Sergei Smirnov has said.

“There is a danger that the withdrawal of coalition troops from Afghanistan will weaken the regime, including counterintelligence. Terrorist groups and terrorists have to penetrate into SCO countries,” Sergei Smirnov said on Friday.

“We’re planning to monitor the situation in the border area and inside Afghanistan,” he said.
