KIEV, March 28. /ITAR-TASS/. A draft decree on the dismissal of parliament-appointed Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov has been submitted to the Verhovna Rada on Friday by unaffiliated parliamentary Inna Bohoslovskaya.

The draft resolution has been submitted to relevant committees. Arsen Avakov was appointed Minister of the Interior February 27, 2014.

However, later it was reported that the draft decree on Avakov’s dismissal would not be discussed on Friday. However, the Ukrainian parliament plans to consider the issue of setting up an interim investigative committee for investigating the circumstances of Right Sector activist Oleksandr Muzychko’s death.

The deputies also intend to appoint two new members of the Central Election Committee, amend the law on election of deputies of Crimea’s Supreme Council, local councils, rural, community and city chairpersons. In addition, the parliament will consider the draft law on amnesty in 2014 and a draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding a harsher punishment for crimes against the national security basis.

 

Who seeks for Avakov’s dismissal

The radical movement Right Sector seeks for the dismissal of Arsen Avakov. The movement’s representatives believe that Avakov is to blame for the death of Oleksandr Muzychko (Sashko Bily), one of the movement’s leaders. Over 500 people including Right Sector members have gathered near the Verkhovna Rada building in Kiev demanding to dismiss the minister of the interior.

An ITAR-TASS correspondent reports from the site that near the parliament house, there are representatives of ‘Maydan self-defense’ that intend to impede the possible storming of the Verkhovna Rada. However, the situation here is rather calm.

Right Sector activists held a ‘preventive’ rally near the parliament March 27. The protesters tried to enter the house of parliament: glasses were broken in the doors.
