Relatives of passengers on missing Boeing lauch legal action
The main aim of opening legal proceedings is to obtain technical data about the plane, which may help determine causes of the accident
NEW YORK, March 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Relatives of 115 passengers of the missing Boeing 777-200 have launched legal action against the Malaysia Airlines, demanding multi-million compensations, official representative of Chicago-based Ribbeck Law firm said on Tuesday.
Ribbeck Law has filed a petition to a district court in Illinois to open a case on the airliner’s crash. Monica Kelly, a lawyer at Ribbeck Law, said she was confident both Malaysia Airlines and Boeing were responsible for the plane’s crash with 227 passengers and 12 crew members onboard.
The main aim of opening legal proceedings is to obtain technical data about the plane, which may help determine causes of the accident, along with information about companies and people who were tasked with technical maintenance of the Boeing.
The lawyers hope that Malaysia Airlines will provide information about the pilots’ preparedness for emergency situations and ability to ensure flight safety.
On Monday, Malaysia Airlines announced, "We have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those onboard survived."
