Tripoli International Airport closed after rocket attack
According to officials no one hurt
CAIRO, March 21./ITAR-TASS/. Libyan authorities decided to close the international airport in Tripoli after a mortar attack. The Libyan news agency LANA reported two rockets landed and exploded on the runway. It’s not clear how strong the damage has been. However, none of the employees of the airport was injured.
“We suspended the air service and canceled departures for safety reasons”, said the representative of the Airport.
“We hope that in a few hours the situation stabilizes”, he added.
So far, none of the rebel group has claimed responsibility for the attack. After winning the so-called revolution on February 17 and end the civil war that led to the overthrow and murder of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's new government, despite all attempts, still cannot restore order in the country.
