TOKYO, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kushida said on Thursday he had no plans to cancel his visit to Russia in April and talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov over the situation around Crimea.

“To date, we have no changes in our plans,” he told a news conference in Tokyo, adding that “the situation continues changing and Tokyo keeps a close watch on the developments”.

After Russia signed the agreement on the accession of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol on March 18, Tokyo suspended talks with Moscow on easier visa rules and froze talks on possible conclusion of three treaties — on cooperation in investments, space exploration and prevention of dangerous military activities.

On Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tokyo was considering additional sanctions against Russia.
