Russia will not impose sanctions on Ukraine in military field — defense committee chief
Chairman of the Russian Federation Council’s Defense Committee says Russia has not imposed any sanctions against Ukraine so far, nor will it do so in the future
MOSCOW, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia will not impose any retaliatory sanctions against Ukraine in the sphere of military and technical cooperation, Viktor Ozerov, Chairman of the Russian Federation Council’s Defense Committee, said on Thursday at a meeting with foreign military attaches in Moscow.
“Russia has not imposed any sanctions against Ukraine so far, nor will it do so in the future,” Ozerov said. “More than that, the Russian government has been tasked by the president at the peak of the crisis to go ahead with cooperation in all areas, including military and technical cooperation.”
“We are interested in cooperation, because it preserves and creates jobs, and we do hope that Ukraine feels likewise,” he said, adding that Russia would not violate its commitments to Ukraine and other foreign partners in the field of military and technical cooperation.
