"Ukraine is not a member of NATO and any attempt to use the alliance to put pressure on Russia is only Rasmussen’s wish to promote the existing domestic problems in Ukraine" — Bordyuzha

March 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha said any wish to involve military-political international alliances to settle the situation in Ukraine was provocative.

“Ukraine is not a member of NATO and any attempt to use the military-political alliance to put pressure on Russia, which is currently chairing in the CSTO, is only (NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh) Rasmussen’s wish to promote the existing domestic problems in Ukraine,” Bordyuzha said on Wednesday.

The CSTO expresses surprise at the NATO secretary-general’s statement on the need to give an international response to the actions taken by Russia that it would violate Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the CSTO secretary-general said.

“Any military-political alliances’ attempts to settle the internal conflict in Ukraine are counter-productive and their consequences are provocative,” he added.
