MOSCOW, March 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian lawmakers have drawn a statement in response to the US "Crimean list" introducing visa and financial sanctions against a number of Russian officials, United Russia faction member Olga Batalina said on Tuesday.

"Colleagues have prepared a draft statement. It's our consolidated answer to US sanctions," Batalina said in parliament.

Commenting on the document, she added that "the USA got so absorbed in playing with the double standards policy, that they cannot tell black from white and patriots from nazi. "We don't trade in brotherly people. Obama must understand it. Let them put all State Duma lawmakers on the list after this statement," she said.

Batalina said the USA did not care about Ukraine. They are hiding behind a nice screen and they are indifferent to fascists and Banderovites' coming to power in Ukraine who trample the law and kill people. They are not introducing sanctions against them. They welcome them on Maidan, she went on.

Why the sanctions? "They are worried about Russians reserving the right to defend their position. It is a great irritant for them," the Russian lawmaker said. "They're just taking revenge on us."

The draft statement is on the Tuesday agenda of the Russian parliament.

A parliament source reminded Itar-Tass that the US president's decree restricted the rights of a number of Russian citizens and that "discriminating measures were approved by European Union's foreign ministers."

"Sanctions were introduced against several our colleagues, deputies of the State Duma and Federation Council members," the Russian lawmakers said in the statement.

Barack Obama and European officials' decision followed "Russia's allegedly illegitimate position on the referendum that took part in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," because "they don't like our brotherly people making a practically unanimous decision on self determination and joining Russia, through open democratic procedure, in accordance with norms and standards of international law.

"Such rejection of peoples' will causes bewilderment because the USA and the European Union have always declared their commitment to democracy and called for people’s right to determine their future independently," the document said.

The authors of the document offer "Mr Obama and EU officials to put all the deputies who have supported this statement on the list of the Russian citizens to whom US and EU sanctions apply." "We don't peddle principles and aren't daunted by any sanctions," they emphasized.
