KIEV, March 18, /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s parliament-appointed infrastructure minister, Maksim Burbak, has told the media that transport links with Crimea remain by and large.
According to the official the airport of Crimea’s central city, Simferopol, is now closed to flights from Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, but trains are running as usual, Burbak said on Monday evening. Certain delays may occur inside Crimea, where armed self-defence groups are conducting passenger checks. Motor transport is also available, although there are checkpoints on the main roads.
“People from Crimea can get to any part of Ukraine, although with some forced delays,” Burbak said.
