Opponents to new Ukrainian power seize prosecutor’s office in Donetsk region

Protesters say the region’s leadership, particularly Governor Sergei Tarutu, can be in the building. Protesters also demand Roman Romanov be returned to the post of Donetsk Region prosecutor

DONETSK, March 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Donetsk Region’s prosecutor’s office has been seized by opponents to new Ukraine’s power.

The protesters have surrounded the building. Then several of them penetrated it in order to find the region’s prosecutor, Nikolai Frantovsky.

Protesters say the region’s leadership, particularly Governor Sergei Tarutu, can be in the building. Protesters also demand Roman Romanov be returned to the post of Donetsk Region prosecutor.

Earlier, the acting prosecutor jointly with several protesters entered the building for talks on the release of People’s Governor Pavel Gubarev and persons, who had been detained after a mass fighting in Donetsk downtown on March 13.

At present, no reports have been available yet on the results of the talks.
