KIEV, March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Key Ukrainian providers continue the retransmission of Russian television channels Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, Channel One, RTR Planeta and NTV Mir despite the fact that Ukraine’s National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council took a decision to stop broadcasting.

One of the key providers Volia Company and Intelecom-S broadcast Russian channels.

On Tuesday, March 11, the National Television and Radio Broadcasting’s press service said, “As of 12:00 Moscow time up to 50% of providers in Ukraine has gone off air. The others are preparing to go off air.”

The National Council said a decision had been taken due to the need to ensure information security in compliance with a resolution by the National Security and Defence Council of March 1, 2014.
