MOSCOW, March 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Chairmen of election commissions of eight Russian regions will leave for Crimea to monitor a referendum on the republic’s status, Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairman Vladimir Churov told Itar-Tass.

“It is early to say if the chairmen of election commissions of eight Russian regions monitor the elections in Ukraine in May,” Churov said.

The referendum on Crimea’s accession to Russia is scheduled to take place on March 16. The elections in Ukraine are slated for May 25.
