EU not to impose visa sanctions against concrete Russian citizens
ntroduction of any restrictions against Russian citizens will be violation of the 2006 Russian-EU agreement on easier visa rules
MOSCOW, March 07. /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union did not impose any visa sanctions against concrete Russian citizens, including several politicians, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large Anvar Azimov, who is a senior official for Russia-EU visa talks, told Itar-Tass on Friday.
“Introduction of any restrictions against Russian citizens will be violation of the 2006 Russian-EU agreement on easier visa rules. I believe that our partners will not take this step and will not put up obstacles to Russian tourists who play important role in replenishing budget revenues of many European countries,” he said.
“Cancellation of issuing visas is not on agenda. Only suspension of our bilateral dialogue on visa issues that is to say further steps to ease up visa rules,” the diplomat noted.
