Ukraine's Right Sector leader Yarosh to run for presidency
The Basmanny district court in Moscow on March 12 will consider arrest of Yarosh in absentia
KIEV, March 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh, who is on an international wanted list, will run for the Ukrainian presidency, said the chairman of the Right Sector office in Kiev, Ondrei Tarasenko.
He told a press conference on Friday that they were preparing a congress to rename the party. "We will go for elections in Kiev, elections to all local councils, in cities and villages. This means Dmytro Yarosh will stand for presidency of Ukraine," Tarasenko said.
Earlier the Russian Investigative Committee's spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass that the IC's main investigative department had ordered to bring the Right Sector leader to trial on charges of public calls for terrorism and extremism through mass media. He publicly called on anti-Russian forces for extremist activities and terror in Russia's territory.
The Basmanny district court in Moscow on March 12 will consider arrest of Yarosh in absentia, following the investigator’s demand, a court source told Itar-Tass on Friday.
